Why EZ Test Kits?

EZ Test Kits provide rapid identification of the chemical compounds contained within a drug sample.  They can act as a simple harm reduction tool, aiding the identification of various substances.

EZ Test Kits can help identify the presence of most of the most commonly used illegal drugs, as well as a number of cutting agents and substitute drugs which is becoming increasingly important. EZ Test also sell kits that can test for the purity of Cocaine, Heroin and MDMA.

Our mission is to help drug consumers make safer, more informed decisions. This is achieved through educating our customers and allowing them to have a better insight into the drugs they consume; combining results from our testing kits with the information shared on our website by our team of harm reduction experts and drug market analyses.

Why Is Drug Checking Necessary?

The fact that the supply of many drugs remains unregulated means that consumers can never be entirely sure what they are buying.

From differences in production methods, precursor chemicals (used for making drugs), and desired potency and purity requirements controlled by illegal manufacturers often in primitive laboratories, coupled with often long, supply chains, potentially crossing many countries drug strength, purity, identification and level of risk can vary hugely.  To make identification of drugs  and related safety even harder, strength, purity and honesty related to the sale of drugs is liable to vary and to change continuously from one area to the next. This happens as illegal networks extend, contract and evolve with success and failures, and associated changes to suppliers.

Amid such uncertainty, it’s impossible to predict the composition of the substances on the market at any given time.  This means the best way to get an idea of what’s potentially in your drugs is to learn about local drug trends and to test any drugs you plan to use.

Personal testing of drugs has become increasingly important, globally, with the increasing supply of synthetic drugs (particularly opiates, and cannabis) with significantly increased risk of harm e.g. Fentanyl, Nitazenes and Xylazine.  These are often sold to consumers as substitutes from heroin, cocaine, valium etc.  Where previously EZ Test kits may have helped you avoid a bad night for taking something stronger or different to what you thought you had bought – there is now the real chance that correctly identifying your drugs may save your life.

How Do EZ Test Kits Work?

Within our EZ Test product range we use a number of different tools.  They are all presumptive drug testing kits where you assume the drug you have and choose the relevant test (s) accordingly.

Our traditional line of products are reagent based, colorimetric tests.  They involve adding a small amount of the substance into a glass vial containing the reagent – a chemical reaction takes place and a change of colour to the contents which identifies the likely drug, or potentially the absence of what was expected.  Colour charts are included in the instructions which allow you to read the results.  The reaction takes no more than a few seconds.

EZ test is also introducing strip testing for synthetic opioids.  These are rapid visual immunoassay for the qualitative, presumptive detection of fentanyl, nitazene, Xylazine and many, but not all, of their analogues.  Results are read against lines marked on the test strip.

How Reliable Are EZ Test Kits?

Studies have shown the reliability of colorimetric reagent tests, underlining their value as useful  tools in harm reduction.

However, while these simple kits can reveal if a particular compound is present in a sample, and the purity kits will give an idea of potency, there are limitations that are very important to note:

  • They do not provide any information about how much of the substance has been detected, and accordingly what is a safe dose.
  • The positive result for presence of one drug does not mean the absence of other (potentially more dangerous) substances.
  • There is a potential for technical or procedural errors.
  • Other factors and substances may cause false results (either negative or positive)
  • A negative result does not rule out the presence of any drug. It may be present in quantities lower than what is tested.
  • A positive or negative test result is NOT an indication that the substance being examined is safe to use.

If limitations are well understood by users and taken into consideration with using the kits harm can be reduced further.  The kits efficacy can be further enhanced by a good knowledge of local drug trends in terms of potency, cutting agents and substitutes.  Where possible EZ Test aims to improve the information disseminated in this regard working closely with drug laboratories and harm reduction agencies and charities.

Who Should buy EZ Test Kits?

We recommend our kits for consumers who interact with the illegal or semi licit supply chain, buying and consuming drugs without explicit knowledge of what they contain.

Further to those consuming themselves, we can recommend our kits to friends, family and parents of drug consumers who would like their loved ones to be safer, and who understand that telling their loved ones to just say no, often doesn’t work.

Our kits and the information provided, should be especially useful for those in the supply  of drugs (whether social i.e. to friends or commercial) who have a responsible attitude and want to ensure all onward consumers are as safe as they can be, and have been given/bought what they expect.

Our kits are all sent in plain envelopes, and our data is secure allowing our customers to order with confidence in our discretion.
